Ministry Tension

Raise your hand if you believe that God is the provider! I see that hand, thank you. There is no dispute that God is the giver of all things, from the day of creation until the present day we have seen and will continue to see His provision at work.

It is different though today. I don’t think I have ever met anyone who has been fed by a Raven and to my recollection I don’t think I have ever been in a church meeting where the All You Can Eat buffet was Bread and Fish provided by a Junior High student. There is no doubt though, God DOES provide.

How has He provided for you for your ministry?

As Youth Minister I felt the tension. The tension between the big audacious visions of what the Youth Ministry Program could look like, and the program actually did look like. It was a Tension of the IF ONLY syndrome. It was the Tension of WHAT IF WE COULD.

It was not materialism, but rather a passion of what I felt the Church should be like. Why can’t the Church have a great sound system, up to date technology, an appealing facility? Why can’t the Church do MORE in the community?

It comes down to what we have. I do believe God provides and I also believe that God mandates that we are stewards of what is received, and so this is the point of Tension and this is reason Faith Advantage exists. Flippin Church of God (Flippin is the city)
House of God Inc
Boring UM Church
Undenominational Holiness Church

Right or wrong, I can draw many conclusions about these churches by just reading their name. I wonder what the attendance is like at Boring UM Church. Imagine promoting your next VERY EXCITING event @……… Boring UM Church!

TODAY is the DAY

Ever had one of those dreams in your life that seems to always be just out of your reach? TODAY is the DAY that I woke up and began to live the dream. Well it actually is not even a dream anymore, its reality. The excitement and anticipation inside of me is overwhelming and a little daunting to be honest. We can actually make a difference, we can actually help churches accomplish their vision and invest into their communities. This is the day that we can set our sights on what really makes a difference, and lay our heads down know that we are striving to do everything we can to do that. Today the vison was born, now it’s time to grow into our mission.

Simple. Stewardship.

First of all, thank you for visiting faith advantage! The next few weeks are going to be very exciting as we prepare to launch.

It has been a long road to get to this point, and I am thankful to say that our vision has kept us focused. In the last 15 years I have experinced ministry and the corporate world.
